Media Release
With more Australian families and individuals seeking to conserve their ready cash by choosing to lease appliances and necessary household goods, and new legislation imminent, Responsible Leasing Australia Ltd. (RLA) has been established to better represent the industry.
RLA and members fully endorse the proposed new RLO Legislation currently before Parliament.
According to Mark Thomas, CEO of RLA: “We represent leaders in the consumer leasing sector who will support the industry today and into the future. RLA will serve as a fierce industry advocate, providing members with authoritative information, and informed advice. I believe RLA will bring a new sense of accountability to this important market sector.”
“Most importantly, consumers, regulators and Government can be assured that RLA Members will adhere to a stringent Code of Conduct. Consumers will be able to transact with confidence where they see the RLA logo, and the certification process underpins RLA’s commitment – regulators can be assured that Members are fulfilling their obligation to operate within clear, compliant guidelines.”
Responsible Leasing Australia Ltd. has been formed to fulfil a pressing need for an industry representative body, which will validate compliance with regulations and with our stringent Code of Conduct. On lodging their application, all potential RLA Members will be required to produce an audit certificate to confirm compliance with our Code.
